Photographed over a six-year period, MILK is a project that explores the importance of religion for the Kolowska family and the daily life on their farm in Topolka, a small town in the heartland of agricultural Poland. The project focuses mainly on four generations of women that own and see to the operations on the farm and how Catholic faith is woven into their daily lives. After milk production came to an end in 2013 due to a steady decline in prices over a number of years, the Kolowska family had to eventually rid themselves of the majority of their livestock. As the youngest of the family enters high-school having set her sights on eventually leaving for university to pursue a career in teaching, the future of the farm as a working and functioning business remains unclear.
At the end of various country roads, statues of St. Mary can often be found. These statues are seen as a blessing upon the land.
