( 2013 - Work in Progress )

Llandudno is a seaside town in the Conwy County Borough of North Wales. The "Queen of the last resorts" is now one of the largest seaside towns in Britain. With larger shopping areas opening, locals and visitors alike are staying in the area rather than heading out to other towns to look for their goods, thus the town still retains somewhat of a busier feel and atmosphere during the winter periods with more shops staying open, rather than closing altogether over the colder season.

Toward the end of 2013, construction of a wind-farm off the coast of Llandudno began. Once completed it will become the second largest offshore wind farm in the world. The joint owners set up a community investment fund which meant repairs to the end of the pier also took place, once again allowing for larger vessels to bring more visitors to the seaside town. For the first part of this project, I have focussed on documenting the town over the winter and spring seasons during the years 2013 and 2015. For the second part of the project I will cover the summer season and get closer to the operations of the wind-farm itself. To close the project, I will document the economic effects that the wind-farm and the subsequent investment has had on the town.
